Trip to Santiago in April
Tour Overview
In April 2024, a group of students went on a Turing Trip to Santiago de Compostela. The vacation began with a flight from London Gatwick on April 15th, and students slept in well-equipped apartments in Teo, a picturesque town near Santiago.
The itinerary combined cultural activities and hands-on learning. On April 16th, students were exposed to Santiago’s rich history during a guided walking tour and free time to explore the famed Parque da Alameda. From April 17th to April 20th, students attended daily sessions focused on coding and digital skills development. These courses, hosted at C/ Miguel Ferro Caaveiro, provided students with an immersive technology education experience and significant insights into coding methods.
In addition to the instructional programs, participants enjoyed a variety of cultural excursions. On April 21st, they visited the Cathedral of Santiago and its Museum, learning about its history, seeing the Holy Sepulchre, and admiring its magnificent interiors. On April 23rd, students embarked on an amazing tour to Finisterre, Muxia, and Costa da Morte, where they discovered the rough beauty of Spain’s coastline.
The trip culminated on April 25th with a journey back to London, capping up a productive learning and cultural enrichment period.
Lessons Learnt: Students improved their expertise of coding and digital project management while also improving their knowledge of Spanish history and culture. The combination of instruction and discovery made the holiday both educational and memorable.
