Trip to Valencia in 2025
Tour Overview
In June 2025, students from SOC College set off on an enriching Turing Trip to Valencia, Spain — combining professional development, cultural exploration, and plenty of opportunities for independent discovery.
The journey began on Monday, June 2nd, with students departing from Birmingham International Airport for a short two-hour flight to Valencia. With 10kg of hand luggage allowed, they arrived ready to experience Spain’s coastal charm.
Upon landing at 13:00, the group collected their luggage and boarded a private transfer to their accommodation at Hotel ILUNION Aqua 3, Carrer de Luis García-Berlanga Martí, 19, 21, Camins al Grau, 46023 València, Valencia, Spain.
The group included:
School of Coding’s Brand Ambassador Mr Manjit Nijjjar, Suman Riaz, Paula Cristina Mihai, Danica Yetunde Sode, Salim Khan, Catalin Cioropan, Gheorghe Bogdan Bordeianu, Lucian Zamfirache, Lucas Lorenzo Kayode, Tokunbo Sode, Raghav Soni, Kimran Singh Shanan, Jasmer Singh Hundal, Kavish Jadoo.

June 3rd was dedicated to learning and professional growth. After breakfast at the hotel, students attended a welcome meeting at Hotel Primus Valencia, where they participated in training sessions and workshops. Laptops were essential for this hands-on day of skills development. After a quick lunch break, students had time for lone touring, exploring Valencia at their own pace.
June 4th and 5th were free days for students to enjoy hotel breakfasts before setting off to discover Valencia’s vibrant streets, markets, cafés, and hidden gems. Students made the most of their lone touring, getting to know the city’s unique blend of historic architecture and modern urban life.
June 6th brought everyone together for a beach day at Platja de Llevant. Students brought towels, swimwear, and sun cream to relax on Valencia’s sunny coastline and enjoy a well-earned break by the Mediterranean Sea. The day also offered free time to continue exploring the city independently.
June 7th was another free day, giving students space to revisit favourite spots, try local food, and experience more of Valencia’s friendly culture at their own pace. Hotel breakfasts provided a good start to each morning.
On June 8th, students visited La Lonja, one of Europe’s most famous civil Gothic monuments and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Located in the heart of the city opposite the Central Market, this grand building once served as Valencia’s Silk Exchange and reflects the city’s prosperity during the late Middle Ages.
June 9th featured an excursion to see the Mercat Central de Valencia and the surrounding areas. This historic market is one of the largest in Europe and sits opposite La Lonja and the Church of San Juanes. Students explored its exterior and enjoyed free time in the vibrant area.
June 10th offered one last free day for students to enjoy Valencia’s shops, parks, and hidden corners before returning home.
The trip concluded on June 11th, with students picked up from the hotel and transferred to the airport for their flight back to Birmingham. They departed Valencia at 22:30, landing in the UK shortly after midnight — bringing home new memories, friendships, and skills.
Lessons learnt: The Valencia Turing Trip offered students the perfect balance of structured training, cultural sightseeing, and independent exploration. By combining professional workshops with visits to historical landmarks and time to roam freely, students gained not only new knowledge but also valuable life experience, making this journey an unforgettable milestone in their educational adventure.
