Tour Overview

As part of our Turing Scheme, students set off on an exciting Coding and VR trip in Mumbai, India in August 2023. This one-of-a-kind tour combines hands-on technological innovation with immersive cultural encounters, resulting in an amazing adventure for all attendees. Especially in August attending India’s Independence Day celebration was an added attraction and very memorable.

The trip’s highlight was a visit to Parallax Labs, where students learnt about the cutting-edge world of virtual reality. They experimented with innovative VR technologies, exploring simulations and connecting with industry-leading developers. Parallax Labs provided a glimpse into the future of technological innovation, piquing students’ interest and inspiring them to anticipate their own roles in this rapidly changing sector. Thank you to the bright minds at Parallax Labs and the inspiring people we met!

The adventure did not end there. Students also visited some of Mumbai’s most recognisable landmarks. The group went to the Gateway of India, a historical arch structure that symbolises the city’s dynamic past, before taking a beautiful drive down Marine Drive to appreciate the sweeping vistas of the Arabian Sea and Mumbai’s breathtaking coastline.

The tour also included a visit to the famous Ajanta and Ellora Caves, where students marvelled at ancient rock-cut temples with beautiful decorations. These UNESCO World Heritage Sites provided a glimpse into India’s rich cultural history, providing a significant and lasting dimension to the experience.
